Dr. Vaheh Shirvnian, MD
Medical Director
Under the leadership of Board-Certified Physician Dr. Vaheh Shirvanian, MD, our team of experienced Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners brings extensive training across dermatology, emergency medicine, wound care, and other specialties. We are committed to delivering comprehensive, compassionate care with professionalism and integrity.
Dr. Shirvanian received his medical degree from the Main School of Medicine at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany, and completed his residency at Piedmont Columbus Regional in Georgia. Board Certified in Family Medicine, he brings broad clinical expertise spanning inpatient hospital care, outpatient family medicine, urgent care, emergency medicine, and wound management. Known for his hands-on, patient-centered approach, Dr. Shirvanian regularly performs procedures such as wound care, joint injections, minor skin surgeries, and cosmetic treatments.
Dr. Charisse Logronio, MD
Co Medical Director
Dr. Logronio is a board-certified Family Medicine physician based in Columbus, Georgia. She serves the community through her affiliation with Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown Hospital’s primary care and hospital medicine teams.
She earned her medical degree in 2015 from the American University of the Caribbean and the American University of Integrative Sciences.
Following medical school, she completed her residency in Family Medicine at Columbus Regional/Midtown Medical Center in 2018 . Since then, she has been practicing medicine in the Columbus area and has over a decade of clinical experience. certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Logronio is skilled in both outpatient and inpatient care, demonstrating a commitment to evidence-based, holistic approaches in family medicine and hospital treatment.
Fluent in English, Dr. Logronio is praised by patients for her clear communication and compassionate bedside manner; she’s known for taking time to explain conditions, follow up thoroughly, and answer all questions . She’s currently seeing patients at multiple locations through Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown Hospital, offering comprehensive care for individuals and families in the Columbus area.
Ashley Slaughter

Ashley Slaughter is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a strong foundation in patient-centered care and over eight years of experience as a Registered Nurse in labor & delivery, hospice, and home health. She brings a compassionate, detail-oriented approach to Georgia Wound Care Experts Inc., where she provides advanced wound care and comprehensive clinical support to patients across all stages of healing.
Ashley earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Georgia Southwestern State University and holds active licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia. Her clinical rotations included focused training in primary care, cardiology, pediatrics, and obstetrics across multiple respected healthcare facilities in Georgia and Alabama.
Throughout her career, Ashley has been recognized for excellence in nursing, receiving the Daisy Award and the Caught You Caring Award at St. Francis Hospital. Her leadership experience as a charge nurse and clinical team lead has shaped her collaborative and highly effective care style. Ashley is certified in BLS, ACLS, and neonatal resuscitation and is committed to delivering evidence-based, empathetic care with integrity and professionalism.
Jennifer Applewhite
MSN, FNP-BC, GNP-BC, CRC, CCDS-O
Jennifer Applewhite is a nationally board-certified Family and Geriatric Nurse Practitioner with over 25 years of clinical and leadership experience in healthcare. At Georgia Wound Care Experts Inc., she brings a wealth of knowledge in chronic disease management, clinical documentation integrity, and value-based care to support patient healing and operational excellence.
Jennifer’s expertise spans direct patient care, interdisciplinary team leadership, provider education, and strategic clinical program development. She has led nurse practitioner teams at the national level, implementing robust training programs, auditing processes, and performance initiatives that align with best practices in documentation and risk adjustment. Her background includes roles with major healthcare organizations like DaVita Integrated Kidney Care, Optum, and Tru Health, where she consistently drove improvements in quality, compliance, and patient outcomes.
Currently pursuing her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Liberty University, Jennifer holds advanced certifications in risk coding (CRC) and clinical documentation (CCDS-O), along with dual board certifications in Family and Geriatric Practice. Her clinical leadership is matched by hands-on expertise in wound care, complex chronic care, and advanced practice coaching—making her an invaluable asset to both patients and providers within the Georgia Wound Care Experts team.
